Brooklyn firefighter Jeffrey Scotto turned up the heat Monday night at the sixth annual Iron Skillet Cook Off, which pits one of each borough's bravest against a professional chef. Braciole Scotto with breadcrumbs and garlic—“an old family recipe,” he says—was named best dish by celebrity judges such as Giants cornerback Jared Lorenzen, beating out the same dish prepared by Eric Jara of David Burke & Donatella on the Upper East Side.
A crowd of about 500 people, including "The Sopranos" star Michael Imperioli and dozens of firefighters, gathered to raise funds for the World Cares Center, a nonprofit that helps with natural disaster relief. If the night was sweet for Scotto, 22, who works at Engine Co.
