Lauren LeFranc told The Hollywood Reporter why she removed most of the usual comic book tropes from Penguin. She was interested in Oswald Cobblepot as an ambitious criminal and Sofia Falcone as a family heiress, not in costumes, superheroes and fantastic plans.
