September is old home week on the Great White Way. Many happy returns begin on Labor Day. That's when rising star Aaron Tveit returns to Next to Normal in the role he originated in the hit musical about a dysfunctional family. He plays the son of a mentally ill mother, played by Tony winner Alice Ripley.
Another notable return is Tony nominee Kerry Butler, who also appeared in Catch Me If You Can over the summer and will star in Rock of Ages starting in September. The "Xanadu" and "Hairspray" alum has a big belt and great comic skills. For six months, she will play Sherry, a former actress turned stripper, in the 1980s musical.
