What perfect timing. As Imelda Marcos runs for Congress in the Philippines, David Byrne and Fatboy Slim release a double CD dedicated to her. “Here Lies Love” is the title of a collection of possible election anthems. “I wanted to understand what makes her tick,” Byrne tells us.
“She had a private disco in her Manhattan home,” he notes. So, while he doesn't have any tracks dedicated to her shoe obsession, he does have a few that he considers "quite danceable." Among those performing on the album, which will be released April 6, are Tori Amos, Kate Pierson, Cyndi Lauper and Natalie Merchant.
