The intersecting lives that play out throughout director Alfredo de Villa's good-natured but unforgettable New York street drama "Adrift in Manhattan" include a young Latino named Simon (Victor Rasuk) who takes photographs of almost everyone he meets.
Rose is separated from her husband Mark (William Baldwin) for reasons described in a flashback involving their young son at the end of the film. By the time Rose and Simon come face to face, in an act of incredible intimacy, de Villa's meandering method of storytelling (he co-wrote the screenplay with Nat Moss) becomes clear.
