First synopsis of the film; Ned Beatty is also part of the ensemble cast. Even though producer and star Ben Foster has said that opening the festival in 2012 is the likely plan, we're still holding out hope that Oren Moverman's sophomore directorial effort, the Los Angeles cop drama Rampart, will somehow sneak onto 2011 calendars.
The story, of course, is based on the famous real-life scandal of the '90s, where over 70 officers were implicated and convicted in an investigation into crooked Los Angeles cops, and Moverman's take on the story follows one officer (played by Ice Cube) on the trail of dirty cop mastermind Harrelson.
