Bronx prosecutors dropped the murder case against an accused cop killer Tuesday after a witness testified that the slain officer - shot point-blank in the chest - may have returned fire on his attackers. Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Lara Goldfeder said off-duty police officer Daniel Enchautegui was shot near the heart and the bullet tore a hole in his aorta and lodged in his spine.
However, she said, the officer could have continued to act for several minutes before losing consciousness.
