A stunning weekend gross of $27,674 at the New York Film Forum made photographer and director Anton Corbijn's Control the top release on iWBOT. "Control," about British post-punk band Joy Division and its troubled lead singer Ian Curtis, marks The Weinstein Company's most exclusive debut since "Sicko," a collaboration with Lionsgate.
Its $12,917 per-screen average peaked at number two on iWBOT, which ranks releases by per-screen average. Rounding out the top five iWBOT were the remaining “Darjeeling Limited”, “Thirst, Caution” and “Romance and Cigarettes”. iWBOT is based on theater averages reported by Rentrak Theatrical.
