A CRITICAL element of tonight's grand finale of the Blaine in the Bubble stunt - whether and how magician David Blaine will wear chains in his attempt to set a breath-hold record - was in doubt yesterday. “To be honest, the finale is unclear right now,” the source said.
The Brooklyn-born advertising magnet planned to leave his bubble tonight, wrap himself in 150-pound chains, then jump back in and hold his breath for nine minutes while escaping his bonds, a la Houdini. But after seven days underwater without food, he probably wouldn't be able to handle being pulled out of the bubble to have the chains attached.
