The actor who played Jackie Aprile Jr. in The Sopranos is alive. Now all he needs is a new job. Jason Cerbone, whose alter ego was shattered in Sunday's season finale, was all over TV yesterday talking about his character's demise. Unfortunately, while appearances on the Today show, Access Hollywood, Live with Regis and Kelly and the like do wonders for an actor's recognition factor, it doesn't help pay the bills.
That's why it's no surprise that Cerbone is back at the New York-Los Angeles auditions—with a vengeance. No agreements have been signed, but his people believe that the situation will soon change. "He's interested in movies, and they're interested in him," a Cerbone spokesman said.
